The Growing Friends are an enthusiastic group who propagate, pot and prepare quality plants for sale to the public.
The Growing Friends Nursery is open to the public each Wednesday morning from 9am to 12pm. For seasonal weekend plant sales see the Nursery page for dates.
The Growing Friends volunteer their time on Wednesday mornings as frequently as they desire.
New members are introduced to the Friends facilities and to members working in other Friends activities in the Gardens. They also have a walk of the Gardens main features with one of the voluntary guides.
Members are shown how to propagate a wide range of plants from the Botanic Gardens and other sources and prepare then for sale. They can learn to source plant information from the Friends Reference Library and assist buyers in their plant selection.
There is also the opportunity to garden with and learn from some members who select and plan the splendid plantings in the Botanic Gardens Perennial Border.
