Jubaea Guides – Friends Voluntary Guides

Visitors on a guided walk with one of the Friends volunteers

The guides are an active group numbering 12 to 18 who introduce and explain the Gardens for visitors. They have the pleasure of meeting with local, interstate and overseas visitors while telling many of the interesting stories about the gardens and its history.

Trained guides conduct regular walks on Wednesdays at 10:30am and Sundays at 2:00pm, and for group and school bookings, made by arrangement in advance with the Friends Office.

Guide training is ongoing and is assisted by the Geelong Botanic Gardens Director and staff.

Meeting and plant discussions are held on the third Monday morning of each month, supported by additional study sessions and occasional outings.

If you have a desire to learn about the Gardens and to help visitors enjoy them, please contact the Friends Office.

Jubaea Guides – Make A Difference

Guiding is one of the most important activites offered to the community by the Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens.

Ever thought that you might like to become a volunteer Guide in the Geelong Botanic Gardens? Not sure what it involves or whether you would enjoy it?

The Friends are running a new guide training program in 2010.

The program will run on the first Monday morning of each month for 6 - 8 months.

Contact the Friends Office to express your interest in joining a training program.
