Friends Nursery

The Friends Nursery is located at the rear of the Botanic Gardens in the nursery area.

Plants from the Geelong Botanic Gardens are propagated by the Growing Friends. The large range of plants include perennials and drought tolerant species.

The nursery is open Wednesdays from 9am to 12noon.
(In addition a select range of plants are available daily at the Teahouse)

Parking is available at the rear of the Gardens next to the nursery.

Seasonal Weekend Plant Sales

During the year the nursery is open during select weekends between 10:00am to 4:00pm for additional sales.

Growers Visit to Marysville

Early December the Growing Friends took time out from our nursery to visit Marysville. With their great knowledge the Friends were able to help identify donated plants so they could be confidently offered to locals. Named and re-potted, these plants will help in the establishment of local Marysville gardens.

Judy Horton generously donated of a whole box of the ever popular ‘Yates Gardening Guide’. These books will be given to community groups and the local library to help people seeking advice as they re-establish their much loved gardens.

The Daniel Bunce Gardening Book

The first curator of the Geelong Botanic Gardens and as featured as a bollard near the 19th Century Garden Gate, Daniel Bunce was a botanist, a businessman, an adventurer and an author. To acknowledge and celebrate his contribution to the Geelong Botanic Gardens, the friends are please to make available new editions of his “Manual of Practical Gardening”.
